The Soul City Institute has two quality dramas on air each week. Both programmes currently feature in the top 10 on SABC 1 and are amongst the most watched and enjoyed programmes in South Africa.
SABC 1 is heating up its prime time drama slot with the return of a brand new Soul City series 10. The series will be premiering on the channel on Monday, 22 March at 20h30.
Monday, 25 October 2009: Thousands of runners will commemorate World Aids Day by taking part in the Soul City Sports Club’s annual race on Sunday, 29 November 2009. The race starts and ends at University of Johannesburg with 5km, 10km and 21km events on offer. In running the race, ordinary people along with celebrities and musicians will be committing themselves to the OneLove campaign. There will be prize winners in each category as well as for couples who complete the race.
Monday, 14 September 2009: You won’t want to miss this! During Joburg Fashion Week make a special effort to see the Kwanda Klothing fashion range and interact with the designers of this innovative project. Five communities currently involved in the world’s first community makeover tv show are producing this range under the guidance of a designer and recent fashion graduates. Visit stalls B35, B36, B41 and B42.
Tuesday, 25 August 2009: Kwanda, the first ever community makeover TV show will begin flighting from 2 September on SABC1. This extraordinary series shows teams of volunteers from all over the country working together to see whether common challenges faced by South African communities can be resolved.
