Climate change has significant health consequences that include disruption of respiratory and cardiovascular disease, injuries, and premature deaths caused by extreme weather events. These consequences also include changes in the prevalence and geographic distribution of food-and water-borne illnesses and other infectious diseases, as well as threats to mental health.

Soul City Institute held a feminist allyship workshop recently at the Kopanong Hotel & Conference Centre, GP. The workshop was attended by 20 male staff members from the organization's provincial social mobilizers and head office staff. The provinces represented included Gauteng, the Eastern Cape, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, and KwaZulu-Natal. The workshop was facilitated by psychologist and artist Mthetho Tshemese (Village Shrink).
