MomConnect to link mothers to vital healthcare

A new cellphone based application, MomConnect, is expected to register all pregnant women in the country for a “sms” service which provides information and advice on pregnancy, as well as a channel to notify the department about poor service.

Samkelo is on a downward spiral… he’s struggling to find work and turns to drinking with vagrant friends at a shebeen. The clinic opening is in full swing and goes down smashingly, short of the arrival of a woman in labour. AB and Riri encounter a woman in the throes of labour on their rounds. The baby came early, but the two CHW’s handle it professionally. The healthy baby is born at the clinic.

The trailblazing edutainment Soul City series is back on air. Showing on local screens from 20h30 this Tuesday (15 June 2014) on SABC 1, the series boasts the largest cast to date. Headed by two stalwarts of the Series, Florence Masebe as Clinic Manager Sis Noni and Lillian Dube as Sr Bettinna, Season 12 will also showcase a stellar cast of fresh, young talent, some of whom had never been seen on our screens before.
