Soul City at Eastern Cape AIDS Council World AIDS Day event

On the 1st of December 2015, Soul City as a member of the Eastern Cape AIDS Council (ECAC), participated in the official Provincial programme for World AIDS Day (WAD). The event was hosted by ECAC and Chris Hani District Municipality. The event took place at Ecwecweni village near Ngcobo.

Rise Clubs from Dimbaza commemorates World AIDS Day

On the 1st of December 2015, 4 x Rise Young Women’s Clubs from the Dimbaza area near King Williams Town in the Eastern Cape came together to host an event to mark World AIDS Day (WAD). Clubs involved were Dream Bells, Bottom Liners, New Generation and Sisters of Strength Rise Young Women’s Clubs.

QwaQwa Rise: World Aids Day Event

Mehaladitwe and Unlimited Rise Clubs (QwaQwa) were planning to work together in order to organise a World Aids day as well as 16 Days of Activism campaign on 01 December 2015 in QwaQwa. They invited the local clinic to give presentations to the public about HIV/AIDS and SAPS to educate the participants about the types of domestic violence that are occurring in their community.

This year the Motheo District Soul City Rise Young Women Clubs and FS Working on Fire Teams decided to take hands in order to mark these two important days through the “When I see something that’s not okay, I will say it’s’# Not Okay Campaign – an effort to motivate communities to take a stand towards victimisation, discrimination and abuse.
