The Gqubhuzeni Young Women's Club, Young Girls Club and Yakhanani Young Women's Club came together on the 22 January 2016 to host a Back To School and Career Guidance event. The aim of the event was to encourage young women of Elliotdale to set goals for themselves and prepare themselves for the year.

On the 17th of February 2016, Professor Pumla Gqola came home to the Eastern Cape to launch her latest book titled Rape: A South African Nightmare. The launch took place at the historic Steve Biko Centre in Ginsberg, near King Williams Town.
On Saturday 13th February a district meeting for all Rise clubs in Tshwane was held – (representing clubs from Garankuwa, Winterveld, Olievenhoutbosch, Hammanskraal and Attridgeville. We had 400 girls attending . The meeting took place at a Special school in Soshanguve Filadelfia Special school.
