The aim of these dialogues is to assess and allow key stakeholders to report to their communities on the various activities they have conducted to curb alcohol consumption and violence.
Among those reporting to the communities at these dialogues have been representatives from the local South African Police Services; the local emergency services; local government; clinic services and key community organisations that have been working on alcohol issues.
The dialogue will be followed up with a two-day training workshop aimed at developing a core group of activists who can work on alcohol issues in the local community.
