The event was attended by top dignitaries from government led by the Premier, Honourable P. Masualle, MEC Dyanty from the Department of Health, MEC Qoboshiyane from the Department of Agriculture, and Honourable Jiyose, mayor for Ngcobo.
More than 10 services were provided for the community on the day which included HIV testing, Blood pressure and diabetes testing, TB screening, eye screening etc.
The Premier also led the delegation in a gardening project where they planted seedlings and handed over garden tools to the Ecwecweni Village gardening project.
Operation Masinyange, a community based model in response to HIV/AIDS and other social ills at Ward level in the Eastern Cape was launched at this event. Rise has been invited to be a part of this model in 9 pilot wards. This model aims to promote community solutions to the above social ills.
