The Soul Buddyz Club was initiated in 2002 in response to the overwhelming request from young South African children. The Soul Buddyz Club is a platform where all South African children between the ages of 8 – 12 could learn and develop skills that would facilitate mobilisation around issues that affect them and their surrounding schools and community.
To date there are more than 6 000 clubs throughout South Africa located within the Primary or Basic Education school system.
Club activities include weekly meetings discussing and debating issues raised in the Soul Buddyz club monthly newsletter projects relating to various health and development issues which affects children; preparing dramas and presenting these within their schools monthly and quarterly competitions.
