The objective of the day is to be the voice of young women and also educate the community on the importance of understanding that the colour of one’s skin and/or LGBTI orientation does not make one less of a human being.
The event will assist the Rise Young Women’s Club members in mobilising community involvement and participation towards changing the environment they live in. This will open the eyes of some young women and men to seeing how knowing their rights can impact the community positively.
The march will start at 08h30 from The Crossing Shopping Centre to Montshioa Stadium; where the clubs will host the participants of the march and expect an address from South African Police Services, Department of Health, Motivational Speaker and an Attorney from a local Law Firm to speak on LGBTI Rights.
